London’s dining scene is impressive in its breadth, diversity and scale. But as the cost of living continues to rise (and rise) it can be increasingly difficult to afford a quality meal out. A set lunch menu levels the playing field – and scores of London restaurants are getting behind them. “It’s an opportunity to make restaurant dining accessible for all, in a way that is also sustainable for restaurants” says Brunswick House chef-patron Jackson Boxer. Here are nine of the best-value set lunch menus in London doing just that right now, from one of Soho’s most popular spots offering a three-courser for less than £30 to seasonal dishes at Boxer’s Vauxhall restaurant and more.
The Devonshire, Soho
One of London’s buzziest dining spots serves a superb three-course set menu for less than £30. “It’s so important guests can enjoy The Devonshire for a reasonable price, and [the price] hasn’t changed since opening in 2023,” says co-founder and landlord Oisín Rogers. Dishes like prawn and langoustine cocktail, skirt steak with duck fat chips and sticky toffee pudding feature – and we can always recommend adding The Devonshire’s signature pint of Guinness. With a wood ember grill, on-site butchery, and an estimated 20,000 pints of Guinness poured weekly, The Devonshire has become one of the UK’s most talked-about spots to eat, and for very good reason.
Two courses for £25, three courses for £29, available Monday to Saturday all day, and dinner Sunday.

Akara, Borough Yards
Aji Akokomi’s West African restaurant under the railway arches of Borough Yards is built around its namesake akara – a crispy, fluffy fritter that’s a Nigerian street-food staple – which is served at lunch topped with barbeque prawn or tomato. The set lunch menu is a showcase of Akokomi’s bold and vibrant signature dishes, and includes a choice of snack, an akara, a main and a side (our side pick is the efik rice, a fried rice of shellfish, coconut and chicken stock originating from Nigeria’s south-east that’s a worthy foil to the mains). An extra £10 will get you a house drink and a dessert, or two house drinks.
£29pp, available Tuesday to Thursday, midday to 5pm.

Levan, Peckham
The regularly changing set lunch at Levan is all about seasonality, value and stacks of flavour. The only constant is the house sourdough with whipped butter – a joy in itself – while the rest of the set selection comprises a choice of two or three courses of simple, delicious plates that cleverly use trim and surplus produce. Vegetables from suppliers like Natoora often build out the menu, while desserts lean playful, with past creations including sweet and savoury miso ice-cream.
Two courses £20, three courses £25, available from Tuesday to Saturday, midday to 3pm

Brunswick House, Vauxhall
Jackson Boxer’s Brunswick House, set in a Grade II-listed Georgian mansion, serves a weekly changing two- or three-course set lunch built around seasonal produce – think Cornish bluefin tuna ragu with polenta and basil, mushroom ragu and linguine or Middle White sausage with puy lentils. Add a one-sip Negroni for £5, and if the warm chocolate peanut butter cookie is on, get it – it’s a cult favourite among both the venue’s chefs and its diners.
Two courses £15, three courses £19, available from Wednesday to Friday, midday to 2.30pm.
The Quality Chop House, Farringdon
“Having a set menu means we have a dynamic, well-balanced mix of customers, and the accessible entry point keeps the dining room atmospheric every day,” says Quality Chop House’s executive chef Shaun Searley. Changing regularly, the set lunch – a starter, main and dessert – embraces classics, from mince on dripping toast to Highland bavette and rice pudding, while a chicken Kyiv Searley describes as “no frills but perfectly executed” flew out the door last year.
Three courses for £29, available from Tuesday to Friday, midday to 2.30pm.

Buzzy Thai grill Kolae in Borough Market has a generous set menu that spans multiple courses and changes often. Diners might start with grilled tiger prawns followed by a green mango salad with roasted coconut and crispy shrimp that’s popular among its chefs. Other dishes – most of which typically appear on the a la carte menu – southern-style gati curry (which is built on coconut milk, lemongrass and black peppercorns) with stone bass and soy-braised pork belly. Add the signature chicken kolae skewer, marinated in coconut cream and turmeric and slowly grilled, for £8.
