As part of the Southbank Centre’s 75th anniversary year, Harry Styles will curate Meltdown, an artist-curated festival that has seen the likes of David Bowie, Nile Rodgers, Yoko Ono and Grace Jones at the helm. While the line-up for Styles’s festival has not yet been announced, Styles has confirmed that he’ll perform a headline set during the 11 days of Meltdown, which will run from June 11 to 21.
“I’m deeply honoured to curate the Meltdown festival, especially for the Southbank Centre’s 75th anniversary year,” Styles said in a statement. “My goal as a curator is to share the music and art that I love, and to celebrate the rich history of the venue.”
Styles will draw on his musical influences in curating the festival, including pop, rock, soul and electronic. The shows won’t be confined to just the main concert halls, either, according to Jane Beese, the Southbank Centre’s head of contemporary music: “We’re excited to see [Styles’s] vision play out across the whole site, creating space for connection, discovery and joy,” she said in a statement. There’ll also be a public programme of free and interactive events designed to draw in younger audiences from across the UK.
Styles will be Meltdown’s 31st curator. Last year saw curator Little Simz bring Lola Young, The Streets, James Blake and Mahalia to the Southbank Centre’s stages, and close the festival with her first concert with a live orchestra. Other past curators include Chaka Khan in 2024 and The Cure’s Robert Smith in 2018.
This year is set to be huge for Harry Styles. His fourth studio album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally will drop on March 6 and in summer, he’ll embark on his Together, Together tour.
Harry Styles’s Meltdown will run from June 11 to 21 at the Southbank Centre. The full line-up will be announced in spring 2026.
