While the caesar-style salad wedged between Dusty Knuckle focaccia is only on for two weeks, the focaccia itself is now a permanent menu fixture at Atis, London’s healthy lunch chain.

For anyone living outside of north or east London, obtaining a Dusty Knuckle sandwich can often equal an hours-long pilgrimage. But for the next two weeks a Dusty Knuckle sarnie will be a more realistic lunch possibility: it’s teamed up with lunch diner Atis on a limited-edition sandwich available at all 16 of Atis’s diners, from Notting Hill to Canary Wharf, Battersea to King’s Cross. “It is a brief introduction into the sandwich world,” Atis co-founder Eleanor Warder tells Broadsheet.

Dusty Knuckle’s focaccia will sandwich a spin on Atis’s Seiz’a Caesar salad: romaine, sliced avocado, blackened chicken, grated parmesan, crispy shallots, Caesar dressing and buffalo sauce.

“The richness of caesar dressing with a hit of buffalo sauce, the crunch, and the blackened chicken work really well with Dusty Knuckle’s bread, which is light, fluffy and full of flavour,” Warder says.

There are just 25 sandwiches available a day at each of Atis’s outlets – and it’s first come, first served. Though the sandwich is available for just two weeks, Atis will continue stocking Dusty Knuckle’s squidgy focaccia permanently. It’ll be a great foil for Atis’s newly introduced slow-cooked roast tomato and pepper soup – or for Frankensteining your own sandwiches at your desk using Atis’s salads.

“Since [Dusty Knuckle’s] bread isn’t widely available across London, this partnership lets us bring their incredible focaccia to more people through our stores,” Warder says. “We have lots of fun collaborations and partnerships in the pipeline.”

The Atis x Dusty Knuckle sandwich is available at Atis until March 15.
