Clickers at the ready: Broadsheet London has revealed the first events in its debut Dine Out festival, in partnership with Modelo. Taking place from August 4 to 10, the week-long celebration will showcase the city’s most creative culinary talent through a series of one-off dinners, collaborations and limited-edition dishes.
First up, Ed McIlroy of The Plimsoll is teaming up with Jeremy Lee of Quo Vadis for a soiree at the Soho members’ club on Wednesday 5. The Quo Vadis x The Plimsoll Summer House Party promises a bite, three course meal and a welcome drink – including a hush-hush crossover of Lee’s eel sandwich and McIlroy’s famous burger – before the party continues in the club.
On Thursday 6, chef and founder of Impala, Meedu Saad, will host an intimate barbecue on the sunny Sessions Arts Club terrace, soundtracked by his personal record collection. Meanwhile, chef Eric Wan will be serving a sprawling modern Cantonese Seafood Feast at his new-wave Asian eatery and wine bar, Tempo.
Friday 7 will see just 14 guests invited to Claridge’s Midnight Feast for a late-night journey through the hotel’s menus from across the decades. And on Saturday 8, the Brat x Rambutan Summer Barbecue will bring together Tomos Parry and Cynthia Shanmugalingam for an all-day summer party at Brat Climpson’s Arch, with DJs, a dancefloor and a one-off Sri Lankan-meets-Basque menu.
Ravinder Bhogal will host La Dolce Vita: Jikoni Goes Italian on Sunday 9, for which the chef will reimagine her Marylebone restaurant as an Italian trattoria for a single night. Then, on Monday 10 August, Santiago Lastra will host Mexican Soul at KOL, a dinner party inspired by his childhood memories in the kitchen where guests will leave with a signed copy of his forthcoming cookbook, Mexican Soul: A New Style of Cooking.
Plus, throughout the week, there will be a limited edition Happy Endings x Dishoom soft serve available at Permit Room, Notting Hill, as well as a special savoury pastry created especially for Broadsheet readers available at Farha.
More events will be announced soon. Tickets are available now.
Broadsheet Dine Out, in partnership with Modelo, runs across London from August 4 to 10.
