From a needle-free alternative to microneedling to reflexology at one of London’s grand dame hotels and a new facial in partnership with Hungarian skincare brand Omorovicza, here’s what’s new on the London treatment scene.

London’s skincare and wellness scene is becoming ever-more sophisticated, with a boom in treatments promising anything from relaxation to a complete skin overhaul in just a couple of hours. With so much available, it’s hard to cut through the noise. Below, we’ve rounded up five of the newest treatments from leading clinicians and facialists and even reflexologists to keep you feeling and looking fresh.

Spicule facial at Skinesis, Chelsea

Sarah Chapman’s Skinesis clinic in Chelsea is known for offering ahead-of-the-curve treatments, and its latest facial is no exception. It uses spicules (microscopic marine-derived needle-shaped particles) to offer a no-needle alternative to microneedling, stimulating collagen production, smoothing texture and allowing active skincare to penetrate deeper, without any need for downtime. The 90-minute treatment in the hands of Skinesis’s expert team sees the spicules applied via the clinic’s new sheet mask, before Chapman’s signature sculpting massage and cryotherapy ice globes are implemented, ensuring you leave with an instant glow and looking more “snatched”.

Temel facial at Sifali, Belsize Park

For those craving a little lift for summer, the new Temel (which translates to “foundation” in Turkish) facial from Sifali studio in Belsize Park is a must-try. Founder Jaya Nila Aziz has garnered a loyal following in north London and beyond, and counts singer Neneh Cherry among her regular clients. Her latest brainchild is this aesthetic acupuncture treatment which helps strengthen the facial muscles and releases tension for effects intended to mimic those of wrinkle-relaxing injections. It also includes Led therapy, and application of Sifali’s ultra-hydrating natural products to support skin firmness and barrier health. Leave any fear of needles at the door: you’ll depart feeling super zen.

Nano lift collagen treatment at Liberty London, Soho

In the basement of Liberty London is a mini clinic from the renowned Harley Street aesthetics clinician Dr David Jack, with an impossibly chic marble and gilded waiting room. Its treatments are equally standout, and the latest treatment Jack has designed – a Liberty exclusive – is a lifting, glow-giving facial. Using a combination of radiofrequency, muscle stimulation and Korean nano-laser technology with collagen-stimulating actives, it will bring you one step closer to that elusive “glass skin” aesthetic.

Reflexology at The Dorchester, Mayfair

It may be nearly a century old, but there’s nothing old fashioned about the wellness offerings at Mayfair’s storied luxury hotel, The Dorchester. Earlier this year, its subterranean spa launched a wellness residency programme, inviting three sought-after experts to practice in its rooms each week. Among them is Marzena Zawadzka, a London-based reflexology practitioner. “Healing begins when the body feels safe” is the ethos that underpins her holistic approach – through her personalised reflexology treatments, she aims to rebalance her patients’ physical and emotional state. The process of unwinding begins as soon as The Dorchester Spa’s lift doors open: in this glamorous 1930s art deco-inspired entrance, with its pearl chandeliers and dusky rose hues, it’s hard to focus on the worries of the day. Guests are led to changing rooms (which include steam rooms and large showers), then to a low-lit relaxation area complete with plush day beds. The reflexology sessions take place on a MLX Quartz treatment bed, filled with warm alpha-quartz sand designed to emulate the soothing feeling of lying on a sunny beach. Zawadzka then gets to work, applying pressure with her hands to targeted points on the feet to relax the nervous system and support the body’s natural healing process.

Omorovicza Acid Glow Facial at The Spa at Park Hyatt London River Thames, Nine Elms

The Spa at Park Hyatt London River Thames has partnered with luxury Hungarian skincare brand Omorovicza on a series of treatments that draw on Budapest’s centuries of spa culture – and is one of the first London clinics to offer Omorovicza’s Acid Glow Facial, which is designed to resurface and refine skin without irritating the barrier. The treatment includes a Copper Peel exfoliation, which smooths skin texture and is followed by a soothing mask to calm the skin, buttressed by a massage with cooling cryotherapy globes that depuff and relax. An invigorating Hungarian facial massage follows, then the leave-on Acid Milk tonic is stroked on with a brush for ongoing exfoliation. Ingredients like glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid and azelaic acid work together to clear, refine and calm the skin; and to combat harshness, it also features coastal microalgae, ceramides and oat kernel oil to balance and hydrate. The result is clearer, calmer skin that feels smooth and toned. Bonus: this treatment also gives you access to the Hyatt’s spa, with a 20-metre pool, saunas and meditation pods.
